Welcome to the Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association (GSJGA) website! We offer a summer program (instruction and tournament golf) that runs on Monday mornings in June and July (the Mini-Tour plays on Tuesday mornings). Please be sure to read "ABOUT US" and "RULES AND REGULATIONS" before proceeding with registration.

Weather Issues? If there are cancellations due to weather, they will be posted here and there will also be a message on the GSJGA phone line (366-0445). If there are no messages, all events are on.
Our program is open to all youngsters between 6 and 18. Weekly events take place at various local golf courses. GSJGA tries to provide a fun, competitive and educational summer session and we hope that you will join us!

US Girls' Junior Qualifiers will be held at Wycliffe G&CC in Wellington on Monday, June 15 and at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando on Thursday, June 18. The cost is only $25 and the FSGA has financial assistance available for those that qualify for the national championship, which will be held at Trump International in New Jersey. These were presented on November 24, 2008 at the Joe Turnesa Memorial Tournament, held each year at Sara Bay Country Club.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2008 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS WINNERS:Girls, Crystal Smith; Boys 16-18, Spencer Dunford; Boys 13-15, Blake Herschberger; and Boys 12 & Under, Mason Fox. These REGULAR TOUR juniors played at The Founders Club in Sarasota.
THE FUTURES TOUR FINALE was held at Peridia G&CC in Bradenton. In the regular division, Boys 11 & Over, Hunter Rieth won with a 37. Erik Souchak won the Boys 10 & Under, with a 34. In the Modified Division, winners were: Alex Tatko, 11 & Over, 48; Ronnie McClellan, Boys 9 & 10, 44; Robbie Higgins, Boys 6-8, 46; and Girls 10 & under was won by Aly Cote with a 58. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!
The MINI-TOUR finished their season at Gulf Gate Golf Club in Sarasota, playing in the Phyllis Wilbanks Memorial Tournament. Overall winner was Tyler Rickert, with a 33. Harrison Chona won the 7-Hole Flight with a 38 and Ben Bogard won the 6-Hole Flight with a 30. GREAT JOB!
